Are You Souled Out?

The mission of Souled Out Campus Ministry Clubs is to reach every student on your campus for Christ and attempt to plug them into a local church.  This is what should drive you - both as a follower of Christ and in turn, your Souled Out Club.  Because we are called to be a light in the darkness and reach our campus for Christ, Souled Out focuses on these 4 core values:

1.  S – Serving (Matthew 20:28)

•   We are called to put our Christian faith and love into action and serve each other – especially those that are not currently walking with the Lord.
•    Each campus community is encouraged to plan service projects for their school that will serve students, administration and faculty.  This includes serving on a regular basis but also carrying out one large scale service opportunity each year.
•   Why?  “Seeing the love of Jesus” in action often paves the way for “Sharing the love of Jesus” in words.

2.  O – Outreach (Mark 16:15)

•   Anywhere you are at can be an opportunity to share your testimony and faith in Jesus.  As you both pray, and look for these opportunities, God will use you to share His love and His life with your peers.
•   Your daily and weekly outreach is foundational for accomplishing the mission of reaching your classmates.  In addition to that, you are encouraged as a “campus community” to plan and hold one larger outreach event where your campus will connect with all the students that are a part of your school’s Souled Out Club and with Jesus as well.

3.  U - Understanding and Growing (Matthew 4:19)

•   Understanding God’s call on your life and growing in your leadership is crucial to fulfilling the mission of taking your campus for Christ!
•   In addition to the natural growth that occurs through serving and sharing, there are great steps we can take when we gather to look at scripture to study the writings of the disciples, of Paul and the life of Jesus, especially how he lived out the mission of loving and serving others.
•   To help you in this process as a student leader, you are encouraged to participate in a LifeLight Student Ministries leadership conference, or in other leadership opportunities that exist in your area, that will help you grow in your call and leadership.

4.  L - Loving (John 13:34-35)

•   One goal of Souled Out is for it to be a place for loving God and loving others.  This evidences itself in being united as followers of Christ and coming together for prayer and encouragement.  It should also serve as a place for all students to come and experience true love and acceptance with no strings attached.
•   This is key in fulfilling the mission!  How are you “living love” everyday?  How are you journeying with others?  How often are you praying for your friends?

So, what does “Souled Out” really look like?
